The breakthrough argument wasn't naval: Unicode has been increasingly receptive to emoji with strong metaphorical use in recovery and mental-health communities, and lighthouse imagery is one of the most enduring symbols in AA, NA, grief support, and trauma-informed therapy literature.

The literal use case hasn't disappeared: coastal travel content, maritime news, postcards, nautical branding. But the proposal estimates the metaphorical use (beacon of hope, guidance, 'standing firm') will outweigh maritime usage within the first year of font rollout.
