How it looks
What does it mean?
An analog clock face showing 9:30. Nine-thirty PM is the wind-down hour. The evening's entertainment is underway, kids are asleep, and the question becomes: one more episode, or call it a night? At 9:30 AM, morning routines are settled, coffee's been poured, and focused work or errands are in full swing.
🕤 is one of the 12 half-hour clock emojis that came from Wingdings, Microsoft's 1990 decorative font. The Unicode Consortium imported all 12 for backward compatibility in Unicode 6.0 (2010).
Among the least-used emojis in existence, sitting in Unicode's Group 15. The half-hour clocks rarely get picked because they're buried on most keyboards and people default to hourly versions. When 🕤 does appear, it's in scheduling contexts or family chats about evening routines.
It shows nine-thirty on an analog clock. Used for late-evening scheduling, wind-down time, and mid-morning appointments at 9:30 AM. One of the least-used emojis.

Fun facts
- •9:30 PM was historically the start of the "10 PM time slot" lead-in on American TV, where networks placed their edgier programming. Shows that aired from 9 to 10 PM could push boundaries that the 8 PM family hour couldn't.
- •The Wingdings font that spawned 🕤 was assembled from glyphs licensed from Bigelow & Holmes, the typography duo behind the Lucida family of fonts. Every half-hour clock emoji traces back to their design work.
- •9:30 PM is the most common "adult bedtime" in many sleep studies. The National Sleep Foundation recommends starting your sleep routine 30 minutes before your target sleep time, making 9:30 the gateway to a 10 PM lights-out.
- •In Spain and parts of Latin America, 9:30 PM is when dinner typically starts. The late dining culture means 🕤 is dinner-o'clock for hundreds of millions of people.
